Description

The Ace 200 is not waterproof so don’t drop it in a river or let the control box get drenched in a storm. You should be wary of setting it down on wet grass too. If you compare the ACE 150 to kid-specific metal detectors it might look expensive, but this is a proper metal detector not a toy and it’s worth the extra cash to access the pre-set modes that avoid tedious trash. Not to mention its sturdy build and ‘really cool!’ looks. It’s great to have choice over the machine and the sensitivity is an important feature, but I’d say it’s for when you’ve got more experience. The great thing about Garrett metal detectors, including the ACE 250, is that everything is made in the United States. There’s no need to worry about quality or support issues. The ACE 250 is a particularly popular detector in Garrett’s lineup. The brand set out to create a device that was approachable to newer enthusiasts while still providing respectable performance that seasoned detectorists would appreciate. We’re happy to say that the brand was successful in that endeavor. hi i am thinking of purchasing the 150 for my 2 sons aged 10 and 11. Is this suitable for beaches also as we tend to spend a lot of time walking beaches. its a pity about the no pinpointing feature. would the 250 be a better buy

Hi Angela, that’s an out of the box thinking, thanks for sharing this with us. As long as they are made out of metal and not an alloy you should have no problem finding her shoes and this will be a good metal detector for this job.

These modes will help no end in your quest for buried treasure. Use them and you WILL find decent targets. Waterproofing

The Garrett ACE 150 is the lowest priced in Garrett’s range but the overall design is the same as their pricier models. In the depth test, the Garrett Ace 150 could pull out targets from approx 6 – 8 inches. However, it is worth noting that this depends on ground conditions as some people have reported having pulled targets with the 150 from deeper. The Garrett ACE 250 is an excellent all-round metal detector for beginners, it has everything needed to find treasure and a bit more so you don’t lose interest. Not only does it have premium features and great design that’s used on Garrett’s more expensive models it kept Max entertained for hours. He’s already looking forward to going out again (preferably when it’s warmer!) The coil is elliptical (oval) measuring 6.5 x 9 inches so it can fit between objects easier than a full circle coil. I pushed it between logs and beneath benches fairly easily. The instructions say you can upgrade this coil should you want to. There’s a handy depth indicator that displays how far down you need to dig once a target is identified too, which is a great addition that means less digging and happier landowners. However, it can be a bit hit and miss. The ACE 200 has fewer modes than its big brothers, but they are (in my opinion anyway) the best ones of the bunch.

In exchange for the price, I found about 85p in real money so it isn’t going to cover the cost at any great speed. However, the fun I had was more than worth it and there are many more trips out to enjoy including a trip to the beach where the 250 should be able to detect on dry sand.

Where Is Best To Use The Garrett ACE 200?

Hello, I have a horse who is a whizz at losing her shoes, would this detector find horse shoes ok? Thanks. But there’s a problem with metal detectors aimed at children – they are toys without the capability to sort trash from potential treasure.
