This is a fractured fairytale, a concept my husband did not understand when I tried to explain it's almost like an inspired story based on characters from Aladdin but "Jafar" gets the girl. So if you think you are in for some strange retelling, unfortunately, this book is not that. Plotwise this was pretty interesting and I have nothing to say about McIntire's writing, as it's addicting as always.

I absolutely loved Julian and Yasmin. They are definitely my favorite couple so far in the Never After Series. The plot wasn’t the best in this book but the romance made up for that. I did like the arranged marriage but I didn’t really like the business plot of this book. I also didn’t like that Yasmin’s father didn’t tell her anything. He thought he was protecting her but really he was just hurting her. I read the three before and though I hated Hooked (not because the book itself was bad but because of how doormat Wendy was) but loved Scarred and Wretched for the reason that made me hate Hooked - they had badass female leads
