Shōnen Jump+ (in Japanese). Shueisha. Archived from the original on June 24, 2020 . Retrieved August 22, 2022. Comprising four volumes, Romantic Killer is sure to become a favorite current release for fans of romantic comedies.” ~KGUN9 News I definitely disliked the latest guy we meet. I noticed I sort of skimmed over his parts because I just didn't care for his actions or general attitude, no matter how hard he "changed" to get to know Anzu by the end. If I wanted to see more of a "new character," then please give us more Junta as I genuinely like his character. I can honestly say that he fits a lot of the cliche childhood friend tropes, but rather than it being "annoying," it's enduring.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for providing an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review* What's It About? When gamer Anzu gets transported to a world of hot guys, it's like she's in a dream…someone else's dream! (from Viz) What I think we’ll see as the denouement is that Anzu does indeed find love, but it will end up being on her terms and through none of Riri’s meddling (outside of introducing the boy to start with). That’s a pretty solid way to split the difference and I hope it goes there (I have not watched the anime, although I admit I am more interested in doing so now). One is that Netflix has a good history of renewing its original anime series. Shows like 7 Seeds, Aggretsuko, and Baki have all received multiple seasons. Another is that the Romantic Killer ending is far from conclusive — on the contrary, it actively sets up a second season with much higher stakes. But mostly she just wants her cat, her chocolate, and her games, which is frankly making her one of the most relatable heroines ever in the history of manga. Her selection of shirts (and underwear) is beyond reproach.

Or, you know, not. Unlike some other series I’ve read, this one is shaping up to pull into the station with an outcome I won’t dislike either way it plays out. Which is no mean feat considering my issues with the first volume. Mateo, Alex (February 14, 2022). Retrieved August 2, 2022. hijiri: he keeps on tryna do so much for her and they also r kinda close cuz they work at the same store And it turns out Junta hasn’t been under a spell of any kind, so yay, but also boo. So that mostly leaves Kazuki, but there’s absolutely nothing done with him this volume except a brief bit at the start with his sister. It’s good, but if I’m going to care about anything I need a little more.Transcription: " Anata wa tashika ni anata no kuse o motte imasu..." ( Japanese: あなたは確かにあなたの癖を持っています...)

Romantic Killer, Vol. 4 | Book by Wataru Momose | Official

Shōnen Jump+ (in Japanese). Shueisha. Archived from the original on December 2, 2019 . Retrieved August 22, 2022. Hoshino's desperate struggle against the Magical Fairy Riri (who's actual a female, sorry for the gender assumption) continues as the childhood friend trope Hayami enters the story (personally, he's my favorite) Riri even becomes a human to mete out even more romantic chaos. This was a ton of fun! Read physical copies from the library, and looking forward to volume 3. The types of clichés are familiar or close enough to ones from western rom-coms that this can be loved and appreciated even if you don’t read manga or watch anime.

I am obsessed with this series. It's good. It's funny, it's everything I look for in a manga, tbh. I still want to punch Riri though lol! The big reunion gets turned on its head when the boys figure they are about to get away with mischief until Anzu turns out to be too cool for pretty much anybody. There are some interesting story beats here, including one I thought was coming and was pleased to see confirmed.

I'm not sure how to start off this review because Romantic Killer has definitely been a different kind of "shojo" and didn't know what to expect going into this one... Surprisingly, Riri was quite the fun character in this volume! In no way have I liked the imp in this series, but there were some funny shenanigans between the imp and Anzu that did make this volume a little more exciting than the beginning led me to believe.Loveridge, Lynzee (August 19, 2020). "Norio Sakurai's The Dangers in My Heart Wins Tsugi ni Kuru Web Manga 2020 Awards". Anime News Network . Retrieved August 22, 2022. Rather than the fun subversion of tropes we got last time, this one leans in hard with the revelation that Junta is filling the ‘chubby kid who turns hot by high school’ vacancy. On the upside, this does reveal that Riri’s not been manipulating people, just nudging their connections along. Still think it would have been more interesting if he was gay though. But more than that and more than this just being reverse harem which can also be draining at times - its just hysterical. Obviously she is going to fall in love with one of the guys (though I am rooting for the girl friend), you can tell she really has zero interest and not just being "I'm not like other girls". She's genuinely hilarious, sweet and overall just a phenomenal character. And the boys are phenomenal too - and although I do still have a favorite, I couldn't tell you who she ends up with. I think I liked this a little better than the first volume. Anzu's personality really starts to form in this volume when the first she seemed more focused on losing all her stuff. This volume also introduces a 3rd potential romantic trope, but I'm not sure how I feel about them. He's a rich kid who thinks he can win Anzu's affection by buying her stuff. Or maybe that’s the point? Eh, even if this does go a whole other ‘single for life and happy’ direction, I don’t quite think it’ll combat the general aimlessness of this volume. Before the whole thing was meandering, but right now it feels practically rudderless.
