This should be a pretty simple step to do, as all you need to do is draw some curved lines onto the pile of pancakes. Turns out that the pan (or griddle) you use to cook the batter, as well as how you prepare it, is key to the final appearance of your pancakes. Consider how you’ll be using this pan. If you just want to use it to make crêpes and pancakes, you can go for a smaller size (around the 24cm mark). However, if you want this to double up as a fryer, go for a larger diameter. Once you have drawn these details, you will be ready to color your image in for the final step! But before you move on to that, you could also add some details of your own to finish it off.

See the steam rising from the pancake on the left? That means it's not quite ready to flip — just a few more minutes before it's evenly golden brown.Spoon two tablespoons of the butter into the batter and whisk it in, then pour the rest into a bowl and use it to lubricate the pan, using a wodge of kitchen paper to smear it round before you make each pancake. Today, we’re catering to those who dream about diner-style pancakes — those ones that are evenly golden, slightly malty in flavor, and typically as big as your face — but that certainly doesn’t mean we don’t recognize and appreciate other styles of pancakes too. Once these details have been drawn, you will then be ready to move on to some final details in the next step of the guide. Step 5 –Add the final details to your pancake drawing These lines will go onto the centers of the pancakes on top of the pile, and they will go in between the trails of syrup dropping down on the pile. Since it straddles two burners, our tester was able to sear on one part of the grill and maintain a more gentle heat on the other by adjusting the heat on each separate burner. Its slim size also made it easy to store, sliding right into the same space as her cutting boards. Just like any other cast iron piece, it does require some special maintenance, but it is a sturdy piece that can last for a lifetime with proper care.

If you're feeling extra fancy, go on and warm up the maple syrup. It's soooo good warm on fresh pancakes. Once your pancake has all the toppings you desire, you could add some extra sides to this breakfast. There are many things you may want to enjoy with some pancakes. As with the other posts in our personalized pancakes series, we begin with our Buttermilk Pancakes recipe. One of the best breakfast foods that you can enjoy is some tasty pancakes. They take a bit more effort than a bowl of cereal, but it’s worth it as you get a great, tasty start to the day.Next, inspired by my fellow blogger PJ’s love of buttery and moist pancakes, we explored how to make decadent pancakes that are rich with flavor. Learn how to make buttery pancakes in our second lesson.

We mentioned a few ideas that you could go for, but this is your chance to also add some amazing details of your own! You will be finishing off the final details of the picture in this step of our guide on how to draw a pancake. These details will be primarily focused on the pool of syrup on top. Ideally, the board will have a lip on it to hold in all the contents. But if you don't have one that's suitable, don't sweat it. Just assemble it where you plan to serve it so there's less risk of things falling out.Pronounced shahr-koo-tuh–ree, it's a French word that means delicatessen or cooked/cured meats. Combine that with board or platter and it's basically a spread of artistically displayed deli meats, cheeses, crudites, nuts etc... If you’re using King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour (which has exactly the right protein content for diner pancakes), you should use about 1 1/4 cups (283g) of liquid for every cup of flour (120g) in your recipe.

Pancakes are often part of a breakfast, so maybe you could add what other breakfast foods or drinks you would like to enjoy with these pancakes. You can get creative with pancake breakfast ideas. Add your favorite fruit, dips, syrup and toppings and presto: the most awesome breakfast EVER. Step 3: Gather your favorite toppings and dips. Whip up any dips you want to include and gather some maple syrup or any other syrups. Where necessary, put into small bowls or jugs. Fruit compote is usually made in just a few minutes with a couple of ingredients. You can make it ahead of time by a day or two. Try Raspberry Compote, Blueberry Compote, Pineapple Compote or other Fruit Compote Recipes. Once your batter is a perfect, pourable consistency, it’s time to get cooking. And now is not the time to be shy. Be generous with the amount of batter you use for each pancake. But really, you could use anything that has a food-safe finish. A big plate, serving platter or cutting board all do the job too. Tips I like to add a big selection of fruit to a pancake platter. It turns it from beige to a rainbow of colour. And a riot of colour is what a board like this should be. Plus fresh fruit is nutritious and tastes great. Step 4: Think about any other toppings that will work on your pancake charcuterie board, such as nuts or breakfast items (I sometimes add veggie sausage and bacon). A dish of scrambled eggs works too - this all turns it into more of a breakfast board.
