Description

It's not the most powerful dehumidifier on the market - you wouldn't expect it to be with the low energy consumption. But it can do a decent job at removing water, especially at room temperature or above. Even so, it does a brilliant job of removing moisture from the air. While it's unlikely to get near 20 litres per day, it pulls large amounts of water from the air - especially at room temperature or higher. It also has a four litre water tank, so you won't need to empty it as often as other models (although this is smaller than the 6 litre Meaco Low Energy 20L). Refrigerant dehumidifiers work best when there is a big difference in temperature between the coils and air. This is why they tend to be most effective at room temperature and above, but gradually become worse as the temperature drops. Lights up red when the water collection tank is full. The CD10L will stop dehumidifying automatically when this occurs, so there is no chance of an overflow.

Another plus for the dehumidifier is that it is rather small in its build, only measuring 13 inches wide and 17 inches high. The weight of the unit is also a manageable 9.5kgs. This compact build comes in handy when you want to move the dehumidifier since it does not have a handle or caster wheels. With a 10 litre capacity, the Electriq CD10L is clearly designed for smaller homes than the excellent CD20LE. Unfortunately, we don't think it matches the performance of its bigger sibling. With a range of domestic dehumidifiers, relatively low prices and some interesting new features (including smart connectivity and antibacterial properties), it's easy to see why consumers are starting to take note of this new company. Activated Carbon filter and HEPA filter: can remove pollen, dustand animal hairs in large rooms (up to 55 sqm)Activated Carbon filter and HEPA filter supplied as standard: can remove pollen, dustand animal hairs in large rooms (up to 55 sqm) A good extraction rate, however, is not the only thing you get from this electriQ 10L low energy dehumidifier. One of the machine’s outstanding features is that it has an automatic energy-saving feature. Let's start with the basics though. It's a refrigerant (compressor) dehumidifier with a built-in humidistat, digital display and a 24 hour timer. Weighing 9.5kg, it's considerably lighter than the 20L version, and also much smaller. The plain white design isn't going to win any awards for innovation, but it's clean and simple to use.

Timer - The appliance has a 24 hour timer which gives you full control over scheduling. You can set the dehumidifier to work overnight or at off-peak hours, for example. The Electriq 10l dehumidifier is a solid model, but, unlike the 20L version, we can't recommend it over alternatives such as the Meaco Small Home Dehumidifier. It's easy to use and relatively cheap, but struggles to remove enough water from the air compared to its closest competitors. One nice thing about this design is that the controls are very simple to use. They consist of only 4 buttons – two are up and down buttons for adjusting the humidity level, one is for turning the unit on & off, while the last button is for accessing a timer function. There is also an LCD screen that displays the humidity level of a room. LED indicator lights that show chosen settings, when the dehumidifier is on, and when the tank is full are great additions as well. Protect your dehumidifier against the cost and hassle of unexpected failure and give yourself some added peace of mind with one of our great value extended warranties! You can be assured that your dehumidifier will be covered against failure for the duration of your policy.

Water Tank - The dehumidifier has a 1.5 litre water tank which can be easily removed when it needs emptying. After it has been emptied and reinserted, the dehumidifier will automatically start up again. The egg-shaped appliance measures 33.5cm wide by 28.0cm deep by 43.5cm tall, which is roughly on a par with the other dehumidifiers in its class. The ElectrIQ 10L weighs 10.5kg, which is about average for a refrigerant dehumidifier of this power. The appliance sits on castor wheels, so thankfully you can roll it rather than having to lift it up, should you need to move it. If you need to lift it up then there’s a chunky carrying handle that folds out of the top of the unit. While ElectrIQ claim that the CD10L will extract 10 litres of water per day, remember that they qualify this by saying that it was measured under conditions of 90%RH and 30°C. These are ideal conditions for moisture extraction and as the temperature and humidity drops, as with all refrigerant dehumidifiers, the extraction rate falls like a stone. While it’s impossible to say how much moisture it will extract in your home, compared to the competitors in its class, the ElectrIQ tends to extract slightly less, but not significantly so. Our Extended 2 Year Warranty from Buy It Direct gives you the reassurance that if an electrical or mechanical fault arises you won't be exposed to costly repair bills. Our dedicated technical team will take care of your dehumidifier.

Suitability - The electriQ 10L Dehumidifier is great at protecting against damp, condensation, mildew, mould, etc. It can dehumidify houses with up to 3 bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, utility rooms, caravans, garages, offices, etc. It also filters allergens from the air, making it suitable for people with breathing problems. Rubber feet at the base help to give the unit more stability when setting it up. However, this does not do much in making it easier to move the dehumidifier. Thanks to its small and light build, you can simply lift and carry the unit to any spot in the house. Emptying the electriQ 10L Free unlimited phone support with a UK dedicated claims line. We have a dedicated claims line and are here to help. Up/down buttons to control the desired humidity level. Use these buttons to set the relative humidity between 35% and 80%RH. This controls the humidistat, which stops the machine from dehumidifying when the desired humidity is reached, thereby saving energy. ElectrIQ recommend that you set the machine to 50%RH and I see no need to deviate from that. It's not perfect though. The CD20LE is one of the bulkiest dehumidifiers on the market, weighing a hefty 13.8kg and with a width of 42.5cm. The built-in carry handle and castors make it easier to move around the home, but it's certainly not a portable dehumidifier. It's also not as effective in cooler conditions, so for garages or unheated rooms we recommend a desiccant dehumidifier.Low-temperature operation perfect for garages, cellars, holiday homes, boats and caravans now with advanced app humidity and temperature monitoring Electriq dehumidifiers often go under the radar compared to the "big three" manufacturers ( Ebac, E coAir and Meaco) - but they are starting to grow in popularity.

One complaint we have about this model is the 5 litre water tank. While this is bigger than most tanks, we would have liked a 6 litre tank considering the high maximum extraction rate. It's also not cheap, so there are probably better options if you don't need the "Smart" features. This doesn't mean the CD10L has no redeeming qualities. It's just as quiet as the CD20LE, at 42dB, and has a high build quality. It's also relatively energy efficient and lightweight - along with being one of the cheapest Electriq models. Protect your health and home from the harmful effects of excess humidity with this fast-dry 10L desiccant dehumidifier from electriQ - now at popular request with WiFi Alexa/ Google Assistant voice control and automation. Suitable for flats and homes up to 6 bedrooms, this powerful yet incredibly energy efficient dehumidifier provides a cost-effective solution in combating damp, mould and condensation.

Features

The dehumidifier only comes with one fan speed. Having two fan speeds gives the variation between power when you need it and quietness when you don’t. So it’s a shame not to see it on the CD10L, but not unexpected for a machine in this price range. Our Extended5 Year Warranty from Buy It Direct gives you the reassurance that if an electrical or mechanical fault arises you won't be exposed to costly repair bills. Our dedicated technical team will take care of your dehumidifier.
