Following his dream of devising the best rum in the world, in 1929, a young Julián Barceló from Spain arrived in Santo Domingo and founded Barceló & Co. We’re especially excited to be bringing in the Barceló Organic rum in as part of the range – this is the Dominican Republic’s first organic rum, made from fresh sugar cane juice, from Barceló’s wildest and oldest fields and it tastes fantastic and truly embodies what Ron Barceló is all about. Barceló is the name and brand of a variety of rums from the Dominican Republic produced by Ron Barceló S.R.L. Barceló has its plant and distillery in San Pedro de Macorís. In 2016, it became the first rum in the world to receive the Carbon Neutral certification, by quantifying, reducing and compensating emissions during the entire life cycle of its products. By doing so, the brand strives to follow the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals 2030. The portfolio includes the new Barceló Organic Rum, Barceló Gran Añejo Dark Rum, and Barceló Imperial Onyx Rum. The third of these limited bottlings is Barceló Imperial Mizunara Cask, which is a result of aging the reserves of the brand’s most prized rums in oak barrels with different degrees of toast, carefully selected by Galíndez.
