Another hot button issue for me is this: does every character in the Outlander series have to get raped at some point? There is a new addition to the list of Lord John, Jamie, Claire, and Fergus. I mean, enough already with the sexual abuse! I am sure even 200 years ago not everyone was assaulted, right? THE SCOTTISH PRISONER (novel): This one’s set in 1760, in the Lake District, London, and Ireland. A sort of hybrid novel, it’s divided evenly between Jamie Fraser and Lord John Grey, who are recounting their different perspectives in a tale of politics, corruption, murder, opium dreams, horses, and illegitimate sons. After this letter, how do you feel about Frank, about his life and treatment of Claire, his relationship to Brianna, and his concealment of the information he has found? Are you more sympathetic than before, or are you angry that he did not share the information with Claire? Do you feel compassion for him because he lived his life with a woman he knew could never love him completely? What if you knew someone you loved was going to die? What if you thought you could save them? How much would you risk to try? Qué puedo decirles yo sobre los libros de Outlander que no les haya dicho ya? Creo que hay una magia especial en ellos que hace que ame cada una de sus palabras, sus momentos y las aventuras que narra.

These excerpts may contain SPOILERS for those who have not read BEES yet! And if you don’t want to know anything about Book Ten, you might not want to read them, either.Born in the year of Our Lord 1918, Claire Randall served England as a nurse on the battlefields of World War II, and in the aftermath of peace found fresh conflicts when she walked through a cleftstone on the Scottish Highlands and found herself an outlander, an English lady in a place where no lady should be, in a time—1743—when the only English in Scotland were the officers and men of King George’s army. Last but not least, Lord John! I have no words for this man. They just fail me when I try to explain how much I love, admire and adore him! Lord John Grey is everything!!! <333 He’s an angel and a saint!!! XD I don’t understand why Claire doesn’t like him!! I mean seriously that man is perfection and it’s not his fault that he loves Jamie!!! He just loves that stupid, stubborn Highlander and he shouldn’t be ashamed of it!!! GIVE THAT MAN A BREAK!!! How much does he have to do to prove that he truly cares about Jamie and Claire?? He even almost married Bree and he’s taking good care of Jamie’s illegitimate son!!! Lord John Grey deserves so much more than their hostility!!! He deserves all the love!!!! Jamie is called out to preside over an escalating situation between a white man and a slave. The slave has drawn blood and must die for his crime, but Claire aids him in a swift death under the guise of tending his own wound. I have a few other ideas for projects after Book X is off to the publisher, including a prequel featuring Jamie’s parents and a book about Master Raymond. Stay tuned! NOW REMEMBER . . . Brianna and Roger's relationship is given a lot of screen time in this book. Not sure if I care for these two much and believe in their love. Brianna is a pretty unlikable, spoiled, rash person and a source of almost all misfortunes in the story. And poor Roger. He has to go through a lot of pain and suffering for his love.

Myers and Duncan Innes arrive with more provisions, and join in blessing the hearth of the new cabin Drums of Autumn opens with a hanging. One of Jamie’s old companions from his days in Ardsmuir prison is being hanged for theft, and Jamie has come to lend what support he can. Suddenly the proceedings are disrupted, as another prisoner makes a break for it–and Jamie, moved by the death of his friend, impulsively helps the man, a pirate named Stephen Bonnet, to escape; a decision that will have long-reaching and unforeseen effects. Fraser’s Ridge, 176? – Duncan has returned to the ridge with new settlers. On the way home from a medical house call, Claire is caught in a storm. She takes shelter and finds a man’s skull (Tawineonawira – Otter Tooth) and a large opal. She also sees the man’s ghost – and, plot twist, the fillings in his teeth.Lord John and the Haunted Soldier” (novella): This tale is set in 1758, in London and the Woolwich Arsenal, in which Lord John faces a court of inquiry into the explosion of a cannon, and learns that there are more dangerous things in the world than gunpowder. Written for and first appeared in the LORD JOHN AND THE HAND OF DEVILS collection. If I’d read these books when they came out in the nineties, I’d never have married - no man will ever measure up to Jamie Fraser. 😍 In her now classic novel Outlander,Diana Gabaldon told the story of Claire Randall, an English ex-combat nurse who walks through a stone circle in the Scottish Highlands in 1946, and disappears . . . into 1743. The story unfolded from there in seven bestselling novels, and CNN has called it “a grand adventure written on a canvas that probes the heart, weighs the soul and measures the human spirit across [centuries].” Now the story continues in Written in My Own Heart’s Blood.

And suddenly it as all simple. He held out his arms to her. She stepped into them and found that she had been wrong; he was as big as she imagined--and his arms were as strong about her as she had ever dared to hope. But that brings up the second reason -- I can't truly believe that Claire or Bree would ever want to see that ring again. It's so tied to the awful events that happened with Stephen Bonnet -- how can they not think of that every time they see the ring? I know I would not want it around, much less on my finger. As to the Circles Close.... the circle of the ring closes... and the story of the ring and what it symbolizes. The circle of the family closes with Brianna and Roger getting married. So much symbolism - we could go on and on.... Drums of Autumn is another masterpiece in the Outlander series. I cannot stress how much love I have for these books and all the characters within them. Roger follows Brianna into the past, where she has gone on a quest to save her parents’ lives, and upon discovering that she has sailed for America, he takes ship himself…with a Captain Bonnet.

He goes on to explain that he believes the letter to have been written under seal of confession, but the deaths of Frank and the Reverend most likely negate that seal. That being said, Roger proceeds to recite the letter to Jamie.
