Description

Only decades of tasting and careful nurturing will allow a wine of this delicacy and quality to emerge. This fortification method is still followed here, when wines are exported to other countries like England from Oporto. The wine's contact with the wood of the cask works hand-in-hand with time to create one of life's greatest wines.

Graham's is one of the last Port companies with its own cooperage team, who care for each cask individually. Graham's was founded in 1820 and through the 19th century went from strength to strength, attaining an unparalleled standing as a producer of fine Vintage Ports.

It is essential to strike the correct balance between the delicacy and elegance which results from prolonged cask ageing while retaining the fruit quality which lends this old Tawny its structure and longevity. Particularly fine vintage ports can continue to gain complexity and drink wonderfully for decades after they were bottled, and therefore can be particularly sought after and expensive wines.

The wonders of wood: As one of the last Port companies with its own cooperage team, tending to each cask individually, GRAHAM’s masters the art of making 30 Years Old Tawnies. Time-honoured skills, craftsmanship and dedication are handed down from generation to generation in the form of three unique arts – the art of blending, the art of cooperage and the art of ageing – to produce our extraordinary selection of Tawny Ports.Light, orange-tinted amber colour, magnificent perfumed nose with great class showing an array of dried fruits. Founded only in 1989, Bodegas Terras Gauda has quickly established itself as the producer of definitive Albariño, one of today's most fashionable white wines and an Eton Vintners bestseller. We can't offer refunds or exchanges on perishable goods such as flowers and food, unless faulty or not as described. The General Wine Company sources wines from all over the world, but with a particular focus on small, independent producers.

Graham’s 30 Year Old Tawny Port is an amber-coloured fortified port wine with the characteristic aromas of long aging, like nuts and ripe fruits.Graham's 30 Years Old is made from wines of the very highest quality which, following careful selection, are matured in seasoned oak casks of until their peak of maturity is reached. Graham’s wines are produced in the five mountain vineyards located in the Upper Douro region in Portugal. Yalumba has released a 50 year old tawny and Hardy's Whiskers Blake, Rosemount's Old Benson and Galway Pipe are also made in the traditional manner. It is a fabulous accompaniment to dark chocolate, but can also be enjoyed on its own – it is an experience in itself.

The Graham’s Port winery is one of the few in Porto to have its own cooperage team that is in charge of looking after each of the barrels, turning the understanding of wine and wood into an art form. In some nations, including Canada, after a phase-in period, and the countries of the European Union, only the product from Portugal may be labelled as ""port. All of Graham’s Tawny Ports have their own individual characteristics, the complex flavours and aromas that pervade each of these unique wines have been developed through selecting only our top quality wines from Graham’s four spectacular Quinta’s in the Douro Valley to age in seasoned oak casks in our 1890 Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia. They are vintage in the sense that they come from the produce of a specific year, but in most other respects are the opposite. The General Wine Company is a family-owned and operated wine merchant in Liphook, Hampshire, England. It was also one of the first Port house to invest in its own vineyards and is now at the cutting edge of innovation in winemaking techniques. Vintage ports are aged in barrels for a maximum of 2 years before bottling, and often require another 5 to 15 years of aging in the bottle before reaching what is considered proper drinking age.
