Like the original film, Battle Royale II: Requiem was shot on 35 mm photochemical film using Arriflex 535B cameras with Zeiss and Angenieux spherical lenses, though it appears to have been finished only as a 2K Digital Intermediate at the 1. Preciosa edición para coleccionar aunque si eres hispanohablante ten presente que no hay opciones de audio o subtítulos en castellano, pues es edición francesa. The Special Edition on Disc 2 has a 4k restoration from a duplicate negative according to the blurb in the booklet. Having been fitted with explosive collars to force them to partake, the students are sent off with food, water, and a variety of weapons to battle for their lives over the course of three days (otherwise everyone is killed) until one final survivor remains. Their 2023+ line-up for Asian Cinema is quiet but will include The Executioner Collection from Teruo Ishii, a Bruce Lee 4K box set and once again more volumes of the Shaw Scope series.

I was under the assumption the LE was ONLY released at 4k with BR2 and BR2: Revenge being the only standard Blu-ray’s in the set.We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Now both the first and second films gets a gorgeous 4K Limited Edition Bluray release from Arrow Video, allowing audiences the chance to see this genre-defining piece in amazing quality. This creates trivial semantic differences between many bits of dialogue in the two versions of the film, but puts an entirely new spin on a minority of other scenes.

As you know, this film has been banned in multiple countries and is not well-appreciated in its own.Playing like a turbo-charged hybrid of Lord of the Flies and The Most Dangerous Game, the final completed work by veteran yakuza film director Kinji Fukasaku (Battles without Honor and Humanity, Graveyard of Honor) helped launch a new wave of appreciation for Asian cinema in the 21st century. I must have been in a good mood the first time I reviewed Battle Royale II: Requiem, either that, or coming off the back of the first film, I was looking for anything that could match its controversial impact. Doesn't really make much difference, it just sticks out like a sore thumb when the rest of the film has been polished to such a shine. I noticed that some of the killings have had blood-spatter digitally added - it's incredibly obvious but since most of the deaths were nowhere near as messy as they should have been it sort of helps. Movie: Director Kinji Fukasaku's controversial near-future shocker Battle Royale follows a class of 42 Japanese high school kids taken to a remote island, strapped into exploding necklaces, and forced to fight each other
to the death as part of a government scheme to tackle the rising tide of juvenile delinquency.

Now that legacy lives on with the movie receiving its very own UHD restoration in a new 4K Ultra HD limited edition box set. ULTRA HD LIMITED EDITION CONTENTS - Brand new 4K restoration of the Original Theatrical Version and Special Edition Directors Cut of Battle Royale from the original camera negative by Arrow Films, approved by Kenta Fukasaku - 4K (2160p) UHD Blu-ray presentation of both versions of Battle Royale in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) - High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) presentation of the Battle Royale II: Requiem theatrical cut and the Battle Royale II: Revenge extended cut - Original 5.The Revenge cut—which was originally released in 2009 on DVD only—features more action, an alternate score, extensive use of slow motion, slightly better CG effects, more of Takeshi Kitano’s cameo, and more character flashbacks in general (including an alternate opening that better explains the motivations of the seemingly insane man who forces the teens into battle). The dialogue is clear, as conveniently the bullets stop flying when someone has something meaningful to say. Though conceivably motivated from a story perspective, the concept would have required careful and nuanced writing and direction to pull off, not to mention a story that was far more thoughtful and restrained. There’s no sign of compression or the like, and the odd soft looking scene seems to be an issue with the original source.

Additionally, the Although potentially polarising for some audiences, Battle Royalemanages to strike up the right balance of heartache, humour, and bloodshed in an unforgettable experience. The new Battle Royale Limited Edition comes presented in a nice, thick card slipcase, which takes a white approach to the artwork. The film Kenta ultimately delivered was a heavy-handed and nonsensical Saving Private Ryan knock-off, complete with more grisly action, over-the-top violence, and bad CG effects. When Mitsuko takes Hirono's gun after their confrontation in Megumi's shack, and Hirono turns to run, it is clearly obvious that the footage has not been touched.Predominantly in its use of dark humour and shocking violence, which is apparent during the movie’s first 15 explosive minutes. All told, Arrow Video’s new Battle Royale: Limited Edition is a spectacular box set for fans of this film. Arrow video è sinonimo di qualità assoluta, edizione che merita di essere acquistata nonostante il prezzo possa sfiduciare. They tried to ban it in Japan, it was verboten in the US for a while, and even in the UK people spoke about it in hushed tones.
