Description

For all its heft, the body has a slim profile, though it's not a sawed-off "tenkeyless" model meant for lugging around in a backpack. Included in the box is a set of faceted gaming keys for WASD, QER and 1-5 for better grip during gaming sessions and a key cap removal tool. Romer-G Linear still has a slightly shallower actuation and a shorter travel but overall it’s a very similar feel.

With the G513, Logitech has made many improvements to the keyboard and I am happy to say that the new G513 is an almost perfect keyboard. While the G513's feature list may have been enough to set it apart from its competition back in 2018, things aren't quite so simple these days. This is far superior to the previous Corsair Vengeance K70 that it has replaced, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an improved typing experience. My biggest gripe with the Razer Synapse software was the required online account and online connection needed to be able to program the keyboard. Of course, switch feel is all in the hands of the beholder, and a linear lover will always struggle to move over to the tactile side without a learning curve.

The keyboard lighting is bright and many effects can be chosen through the Logitech gaming software. The Logitech G513 Carbon combines versatility and minimalism in an appealing keyboard for those who like RGB bling and a conservative look in equal measure. The Romer-G linear was built upon the original Romer-G tactile and it removes the tactile point and further enhances the actuation speed.Setting up the G513 for customization and personalization with the Logitech Gaming Software is pretty straight forward. They always feel mushy and weird and have a very clunky tactile hump that makes key-travel feel a lot like an actual journey. These stats will be mere novelties for most folks, but if you were curious which letters you're overusing in your college thesis—or you need to quantify your reflexes at reloading in Fortnite—LGS has you covered. Well, 24-bit in that you can assign each key its own RGB color with eight bits per color channel according to the software. We encourage readers interested in this product to purchase under warranty directly from Logitech or an approved reseller and to contact Logitech support in case of any issues.

It can be overwhelming at first; the interface is a touch difficult to navigate versus, say, Razer's Synapse 3. The force required to actuate each key on the G513 Carbon is 45 grams force (gf), the same as the rating for the Cherry MX Brown or MX Speed versions of Corsair's K95 RGB Platinum, but less than the 50gf demanded by the "Green Switch" version of Razer's BlackWidow Chroma V2. The timeline at the bottom allows you to control lighting animation effects similar to a video editor. On paper, the Logitech G513 Carbon is a typical 101-key typer, with 12 additional keycaps available in the box (replacements for the WASD and function keys); these have angled tops for your fingers to distinguish by feel. Regardless of whether you opt for the palpable-but-subtle bump of the Romer-G Tactile switches or the fluidity of the Romer-G Linear switches, the G513 Carbon's dimensions remain the same, at 5.Only reviews that feature the label "Verified Review" have been checked to ensure that the author actually used or purchased the product. The Logitech G513 gaming keyboard's build quality is good and is very similar to the Logitech G512 Special Edition and Logitech G413. However, if given the choice, I would prefer to have a dedicated volume wheel in the form of a scroll wheel similar to the smooth, scrolling control found on the K70. Of course, one is to power your USB passthrough (located in the top right corner), but it's still worth considering if you're running low on free connections.
