But there was a point where this all turned, and from that point on, I could only smell this as the synthetic mess some have mentioned below. The cashmeran comes in and it eventually dries to a sweet, somewhat nutty accord while keeping the sea notes as well.

A masculine strength combined with a breath of the ocean, L'Eau Majeure D'Issey features an invigorating marine fragrance that opens with crisp notes of bergamot and grapefruit. Perfumes with natural ingredients often smell different in batches based on the source of the ingredients, while synthetic ingredients usually have consistency in their smell and lasts longer. Issey Miyake launched L’eau Majeure d’Issey Eau de Toilette in 2017 as a woody aquatic fragrance for men. Driftwood smoothed and shaped by the perpetual force of waves represents strength with subtlety, adding warmth and depth, architecturally inspiring the bottle and the scent itself.

I get the sarcasm and the jokes, but I don't get the blind voting that's happening with every new releases. The tea note really stands out and makes this one unique, it's definitely a green tea leaf smell in the middle. There is a really strange gut wrenching metallic saltiness going on in this and it is loaded with Calone.I've been whining recently about generic, uncreative scents saturating the marketplace and you'd think I'd embrace something which evokes such a colourful response in either direction, for beeter or worse. There's also slightly bitter tinge to the opening (I'm guessing due to some citrus or citrus aldehyde). I appreciate the original L'eau d'Issey for it's yuzu top and freshness, but haven't been a fan because of it's short life on me. You may not think they are suitable to give as a gift, but they are perfect for your personal use (or perhaps for non-discerning family and friends). For this, the perfumers Fabrice Pellegrin and Aurélien Guichard created a fragrance from refreshing notes of grapefruit and bergamot, giving a luminous exit, as if it were the reflection of the sun on the water.

On my first time trying this, it had a distinct resemblance to another fragrance, that I was finally able to identify as it being a clone of L'Homme Ultime. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of juniper, mint or lavender, but my last guess is cashmeran, which I usually perceive as fresh and relaxing at the same time.I originally tested this in the winter when I bought it and was hopeful but experienced a very different fragrance. Not having much luck with any of the Issey Miyake flankers, they all seem to vary from distinctly average to quite off-putting. Having said all that, there is something about this fragrance that takes me back to my childhood in elementary school. I often wonder if people just find a great scent and then immediately come here and give it a bad review, because they don't want others wearing it.
