Description

The next book of the Bible to feature the colour blue is Esther. Chapter one, which focuses on the deposition of Queen Vashti, also describes the citadel of Susa. Verse 6 tells us“The garden had hangings of white and bluelinen, fastened with cords of white linen and purple material to silver rings on marble pillars. There were couchesof gold and silver on a mosaic pavement of porphyry, marble, mother-of-pearl and other costly stones.” Purple is created by mixing red (the color of the flesh) and blue (the Word of God and His healing power). It reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, shedding his blood for the forgiveness of our sins. The rainbow most commonly appears after the flood in Genesis 9:13, a signal to Noah of God’s love and promise never to cover the Earth in purifying water again.

In the book of Revelation, the redeemed are described as wearing white robes, signifying their purity and victory in Christ. Beyond that, purple also represents the holy priesthood. Through the Word of God and the Lord’s healing power, we can gain access to God’s wisdom and power and take up the sacred priesthood. In the Word of God, brown is often associated with the earth and the soil, reminding us of our connection to the land and the importance of stewardship and care for the environment. For example, evergreen trees never lose their foliage no matter what time of year it is, and they later came to be associated not just as a symbol of the celebration of Christmas, but as a symbol of God’s everlasting life. The rainbow signifies God's faithfulness and His commitment to never destroy the earth by flood again.

Exodus 28:15 - And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it. Red is associated with fire and the Holy Spirit, representing the purifying and empowering work of God in our lives.

Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” (Isaiah 1:18)The color of the physical book itself holds no spiritual importance, for it is the spiritual truths and wisdom within that truly matter. What are the colors of Jesus in God's Word?

On the basis of this we can derive the spiritual meaning of colors in the Bible as follows for the three secondary colors. GreenPost your number bible coloring artworks on all social networks and share with friends and families

Exodus 35 requests the Israelites to donate gold, silver and bronze, and blue, purple and scarlet yarnand fine linen for the construction of the Tabernacle. The actual building of the tabernacle commences in chapter 36. The Lord chose Bezalel son of Uri the task of constructing the gold, silver and bronze elements, and Oholiab son of Ahisamak the ability to teach others to work with the yarn and linen. The chapter goes on to record the production of the curtains mentioned earlier in the book. The colors of God in the Bible are not explicitly mentioned, as God is a spiritual being beyond physical attributes such as color. The next mention of the colour blue occurs in 2 Chronicles. A large part of the book focuses on the construction of Solomon’s Temple. 2 Chronicles 2:7 states, “Send me, therefore, a man skilled to work in gold and silver, bronze and iron, and in purple, crimson and blueyarn, and experienced in the art of engraving, to work in Judah and Jerusalem with my skilled workers, whom my father David provided.” These are the same colours (except crimson instead of scarlet) as used for the tabernacle.

The color yellow or gold is linked to the heavenly city, the New Jerusalem, described in the book of Revelation. Exodus 39:1 - And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.
