The EE Smart 5G Hubis the best 5G router available on a UK network at the time of writing, so on that basis it comes highly recommended. But it’s also the same as the router that Three offers, so only really has an edge over Vodafone. Note! If your 5G signal is really low, it will automatically connect to 4G because you will get a more stable connection, and maybe even faster connection. However, if you force the 5G signal, it could result in a really unstable connection. So we recommend to have it set to Auto. Aye same for me. If I force to 5G preferred I get nothing. But I believe it is using 5G NSA (i.e over 4G) because of the colour of the led on the unit. I don't have the paperwork to hand but I'm sure it's blue if "5G" and green if not. Or something like that. Two Gigabit ports are provided, with the first offering WAN and LAN services and the second for connecting other devices to its network. The NR5101 is an AX1800-rated Wi-Fi 6 access point (AP) with speeds of up to 1,200Mbits/sec on its 5GHZ radio and 573Mbits/sec on the 2.4GHz one. The Wi-Fi 6 high-speed 160MHz channels aren't supported, but the NR5101 mustered a very creditable performance in our real-world tests. For most people this still probably won’t actually be an issue – 30 devices is still enough to get numerous phones, tablets, computers, consoles, and smart home devices online at the same time. But if a huge number of your gadgets are web-connected – and you have a lot of them on at any one time – then support for 64 will help.

EDIT2: Yep and if you force 5G - you get nothing. And if you force 4G you just get, 4G (see below). So it defo is best on "Auto" as that does make it use 5G. The external antenna ports are only for frequencies higher than 3500 MHz, and the internal antennas are used for other frequencies (lower than 3500 MHz e.g. 2600 MHz and below) when external antennas are connected and with the switch on EXT position; when the switch is on INT position, internal antennas are used for all the ranges of frequency. The current Three 5G Hub is a rebranded Zyxel NR5103E, while the previous model was a ZTE MC801A, and below we’ve detailed the key differences between these two devices. SpeedIndoor Mobile Routers allow business owners to offer Internet access to guests or customers using the Mobile Broadband Internet.

Firmware upgrading to the latest version could help with your issue because it's not running the latest modifications to the software of the device. With the internal antenna's I was getting a connection of about 72dbs so in the Excellent range and was hitting no more than 100Mb DL. NR5101 / FWA510 Troubleshooting Table of Content (NR5101 / FWA510) A) LED Lights A1) LED Indication B) Reset the device C) Login to the device D) Connectivity issues? - Firmware Upgrade E) Connection unstable/slow and/or disconnections - Manual APN settings For example, I set 2 cells, but the RFCN 1275 does not have necessarily higher priority than the RFCN 9560. Look at these two devices side by side and it’s the design that will stand out first as being different, though ultimately, they’re basically both just white boxes with a tower-like design. I have been using the Huawei CE Pro 2 for a 5G connection to power my whole house due to having no broadband option.

It is important to be consistent when installing updates. The actual plans it’s available on are on the pricey side, but are still just about competitive, and EE’s 5G coverage is widespread, so there’s a fair chance you’ll be able to get it in your home. This leaves the EE Smart 5G Hub (and all other 5G routers) in the dust, but most homes can’t get this, and you’ll have to pay a lot for the privilege. Those sorts of speeds are also overkill for most people, so consider whether you’d even need them.
