Description

Wilde thinks Peter might lead him to his birth mother, so he sets out to search for the reality star, whom he hopes is still alive. A match is actually found - a close relative, but the relative deletes their details immediately. However, Wilde doesn’t give up, but his research results in him becoming embroiled in a secret online community, intent on exposing trolls - and then people start to die - one by one!

With the evidence devastatingly pointing against him, Ken Klein vanishes; shattering his family as he is never heard from again. That begs the heart-wrenching question; can you always believe everything you see with your own eyes, even when you hopelessly want to?She tells a looooong story to explain how Wilde got abandoned in the woods: she got involved with a crime boss, also got pregnant by Daniel, then tried to leave the crime boss. (That did not go well.) Now in his forties, it’s taken years for Wilde to take a giant step and put his details into a DNA database, in the hope of finally discovering his true identity, and that of his parents. Wilde was the drawing card for this one; I wanted to know more. The story line for this one was a little convoluted and I was very much wanting to hear of Wilde's past. I mean, I guess this is what we got, but some of the main answers were given but I was a little underwhelmed with the big reveal. Even in the dialogue of the was this was presented underwhelmed me somewhat - BUT - I still enjoyed it a lot. Signs that Myron was a gifted basketball player were evident as early as the 6th grade, and he went on to be drafted by the Boston Celtics in the first round, until he shattered his knee during a preseason game against Washington Bullets—ending his career.

The gripping new thriller from the No 1 Sunday Times bestselling author and creator of Stay Close and The Stranger . . . Have to admit I was sad when Coben decided to part ways with Myron Bolitar (my favorite character ~ read every novel in that series!). Finally, after Wilde was born, she decided to run away with Daniel and become an informant. But the crime boss found out and came after her. When Valerie is murdered in cold blood and her body dumped right outside the stadium at the U.S. Open, Myron Bolitar, a renowned sports agent, steps in to investigate the killing; one that will unearth a gut-wrenching connection between two players and a six-year-old murder at an affluent mainline club. It’s been six years since Jake Fisher watched Natalie, the love of his life, tie the knot with another man. Six years of burying his broken heart in work as a college professor. Six years of upholding the promise to leave Natalie and her new husband, Todd, alone. The second in the series based on a man called Wilde who, as a child was abandoned and left in a forest to fend for himself, eventually being found after a few years amazingly surviving on his own.

I appreciate the cautionary aspect the author has tried to convey about reality TV. (I assume that was his message). If you are a fan of reality TV you’ll love it – or maybe not. Wilde goes to see George, the guy who posed as FBI to question him. He is actually a US Marshal. Wilde infers out that his father Daniel must be in Witness Protection and asks if he can pass messages to him. On seeing that, you do what any parent in that position would do: you follow her into a dark and dangerous world you never knew existed. Hester and Oren are still a couple. Hester states she is much too old to say she has a boyfriend but is fine with Oren being her beau!No one has seen Natalie in years, and mutual friends of the couple either can’t be traced or just don’t remember Jake.
