Perhaps the most compelling argument for spending this much on a compact gimbal like this, though, is its ability to accommodate larger, heavier devices than smartphones and action cameras. It’s smoother than the built-in stabilisation of even the best smartphones and, more importantly, a mile better than the stabilisation you’ll get with most compact and mirrorless cameras.

First of all, before you go out shooting, you need to understand what each mode does and which one to use. The Zhiyun Crane M2 S 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer offers 360° pan, 320° tilt, and 320° roll rotation across six modes of operation, including POV and Vortex modes.I looked at the batteries, and there was a bit of oxide on the contacts, which I managed to clean with a coin, I think. Although my Canon M50 is included in the compatibility list, unfortunately, the process was made harder by the fact that the viewfinder on this particular camera as well as on the Canon M5 may interfere with the roll axis motor under balanced position (which means I cannot use the Vortex mode). To make everyone a true filmmaker in their daily lives, ZHIYUN brings a new handheld stabilizer designed for multiple devices for users of all levels. Packaging also includes a hand strap, smartphone mount clip, Micro-USB Type-C Cable, mini tripod, and quick release plate. Having held heavier gimbals, I know how tiring it can become, but this one was very lightweight to use and to hold.

Make sure you carefully study the compatibility list so you are not left disappointed, because certain cameras have limitations, (for example, unavailable zoom control on HERO5). As someone who'd be using only one mirrorless camera for the time being, which also happens to not have the full compatibility with all features this gimbal offers, I am slightly torn; however, if I owned one of the other cameras on the list, I wouldn't hesitate. By adjusting the motor strength to high, you can attach cameras weighing up to 720g to the Zhiyun Crane-M2’s mounting plate, which means, as long as they fit, you can stabilise some quite beefy cameras.

To me, it just seems like a great option for those who travel often and don't want to carry heavy equipment. Secondly, changing the modes can be confusing too, because you don't simply run through each mode by pressing one button.

We've been using a full production version of this 120 fps sports camera, to see what you gain (and, perhaps, lose). It’s a credit limit that’s attached to your PayPal account which you can use for your online purchases.I'll keep hacking away for a while but if it doesn't work out soon I'm gonna place the gimbal directly under my truck tire and hit the gas. This is probably due to the compact design which would make it tricky to switch into an upside down mode without hitting the gimbal or camera on the side.
