It doesn't feel forced in her books, she just genuinely creates groups of people who are made up from all walks of life the way things are in the real world. So now Penny is not in a "love triangle", but a "love square", as her friend and workmate says to her. Overall it gains an extra star for the first part of the book which I enjoyed otherwise I would have rated it 1*.

That said, there was a little bit of slut shaming in this book that really upset me, and honestly made me dissatisfied with the man that she ends up choosing in the end.

The stories all felt a little predictable, which was a shame as this the premise on which the book is based on. Since the recipe of this trope is made up of exactly two elements (1) Two characters with a secret (often superhero) identity and 2) They don't know the other person's civilian identity) it is easily replicated in other fanworks that include superhero characters and ships, and it has been spreading across different fandoms recently. After her most recent relationship failed, she decides it’s time to get a start on having her own family, with or without a man, and her sister is more than willing to help as her surrogate. And then, to complicate her life further, Francesco comes to visit, only to stay and become the new pastry chef at her uncle’s restaurant.

There was just too much going on with her character in terms of her backstory and none of it really changed her as a person. Everything changes when Sanjay finds out about a joint housing scheme, and asks Kareena to apply for the scheme with him. Many issues are running through Penny’s story and this adds depth to something I anticipated being a funny example of women’s fiction.

The Love Square as a trope is a very specific subgenre of the Love Quadrangle but differentiated in one important point: While in a Love Quadrangle four persons vy for a relationship amongst each other, in the Love Square trope, these four people are really only two people who are in love with each other's (often superhero) alter-egos in a way that does not align, making this trope a beautiful mess of Mutual Pining: Character A is also secretly Character B but loves Character C. I felt like Penny as a character apart from the ‘romance’ was far easier to like and identify with, and seemed much more unique. There was so much focus on who she was sleeping with there was honestly very little room for us to see who she was on her own.I started off rooting so hard for Penny and all of her love interests, but ended up pretty much loathing every single character by the end. Bro, you both clearly told each other you were FRIENDS repeatedly and you both were seeing other people and you KNEW the circumstances? It's simple in this way: If they knew each others identities, they would finally be able to be together. The soundtrack album features seven tracks and was released by Zee Music Company on 24 January 2018.

The story follows how Penny finds herself in the middle of the love square, with all three men enjoying her company, and wanting varying levels of commitment from Penny. Marinette is head over heels in love with Espio, and sometimes, she has trouble keeping her head over her heels when around him. Are we picking the right person for our hearts, our lives, our passions in lives or are we settling for the only person who is interested? She had frozen and fertilized her embryos at her doctors recommendation since she really wanted to be a mother. The best friend, the polyamorous school friend or the amazing-in-bed older man – who would you choose?Love Per Square Foot instead directs its gaze on the middle class realities and aspirations of millennials living with their parents in cramped houses, with no privacy of bedrooms of their own. Williams presented the cancer storyline without any consideration of the ‘show not tell’ style of writing. Williams is also the author of Our Stop, so, since I read so many good reviews about it, I thought I couldn’t pass this one up. Except that’s all there is to them, Charlie does add some humour but mainly feels like they’re there just to tick another box.
